Description

The invention of the telescope was an important step for modern astronomy. It helped observe stars and planets. Our Earth orbits the Sun, along with seven other planets that constitute the solar system. Many comets also orbit the Sun. The entire solar system is only a small part of the Milky Way galaxy.
Heliocentric comes from the Greek word “helios”, meaning Sun. The Sun is the center of the solar system. All the planets in the solar system orbit around the Sun.
Neap tides are weak tides. They occur when the sun’s and moon‘s gravitational pull are perpendicular to each other.
In our solar system, eight planets orbit the Sun. But there are other round bodies orbiting the Sun. These bodies are like planets but much smaller. They are called planetoids. The largest asteroids or dwarf planets are called a planetoids.
a massive ball of gas in outer space that gives off heat, light, and other forms of radiation
Planet Mars is able to clear the neighborhood around its orbit. However, Pluto does not have enough mass to clear its neighborhood. Pluto is classified as a dwarf planet.
The region past Neptune's orbit is called Kuiper belt. Many comets are seen here.
The nebular hypothesis suggests that our solar system formed from a huge cloud of dust and gases called a nebula.
Anything that is organized and predictable is a system. The orbits of the planets and the position of the Sun are fixed – they do not change. We always know where the planets and Sun will be. This system is called solar because the planets are controlled by the Sun’s gravity.
A sun is any star around which planets revolve. A star goes through many stages in its life cycle. It starts life from a nebula, evolves into a protostar, then a main sequence star. Depending on its mass, it can then become a red giant or a red super giant.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a crossword?

Crossword puzzles have been published in newspapers and other publications since 1873. They consist of a grid of squares where the player aims to write words both horizontally and vertically.

Next to the crossword will be a series of questions or clues, which relate to the various rows or lines of boxes in the crossword. The player reads the question or clue, and tries to find a word that answers the question in the same amount of letters as there are boxes in the related crossword row or line.

Some of the words will share letters, so will need to match up with each other. The words can vary in length and complexity, as can the clues.

Who is a crossword suitable for?

The fantastic thing about crosswords is, they are completely flexible for whatever age or reading level you need. You can use many words to create a complex crossword for adults, or just a couple of words for younger children.
