An economic resource. Anything tangible or intangible that can be owned or controlled to produce value and that is held by a company to produce positive economic value. Simply stated, it represents value of ownership that can be converted into cash (although cash itself is also considered an asset).
Man-made (manufactured) goods that are used in producing other goods and services, rather than being bought by consumers.

An index of economic growth with the environmental consequences of that growth factored into a country's conventional GDP. Green GDP monetises the loss of biodiversity, and accounts for costs caused by climate change.
The total value of goods produced and services provided in a country during one year.
GDP + net income from abroad. The total domestic and foreign output claimed by residents of a country, consisting of gross domestic product (GDP), plus factor incomes earned by foreign residents, minus income earned in the domestic economy by non-residents.
The underground economy. This refers to illegal economic activity. Transactions here are illegal either because the good or service being traded is illegal or because an otherwise licit transaction does not comply with government reporting requirements (e.g., cash jobs for building services).

Resources or factors of production (land, labour, capital and entrepreneurship) used to produce goods and services.
Micro - the purchase of capital goods by firms. Macro - An increase in the capital stock, or gross fixed capital formation.
The equilibrium price of a good or service determined where supply equals demand.
The amount of value an item or a service has in relation to if it were sold for cash to a willing buyer.
A cost that is suffered by a third party as a result of an economic transaction. In a transaction, the producer and consumer are the first and second parties, and third parties include any individual, organisation, property owner, or resource that is indirectly affected.
The current value of goods and services produced by an economy in a given year; i.e., this is GDP without accounting for the effect of inflation.

What is a crossword?

Crossword puzzles have been published in newspapers and other publications since 1873. They consist of a grid of squares where the player aims to write words both horizontally and vertically.

Next to the crossword will be a series of questions or clues, which relate to the various rows or lines of boxes in the crossword. The player reads the question or clue, and tries to find a word that answers the question in the same amount of letters as there are boxes in the related crossword row or line.

Some of the words will share letters, so will need to match up with each other. The words can vary in length and complexity, as can the clues.

Who is a crossword suitable for?

The fantastic thing about crosswords is, they are completely flexible for whatever age or reading level you need. You can use many words to create a complex crossword for adults, or just a couple of words for younger children.

How do I choose the clues for my crossword?

Once you’ve picked a theme, choose clues that match your students current difficulty level. For younger children, this may be as simple as a question of “What color is the sky?” with an answer of “blue”.
